My journey really chose me nearly 20 years ago. At the age of 18 I became a vegetarian (much to the dislike of my parents --- who meat had an emotional and physical connection to). I refused to drink milk when I read the book Diet for a New America by John Robbins. That book transformed my thoughts about food production in America and began my quest into eating more healthy foods. I have since not had milk products since the age of 18.

 

When I gave birth to my son in 1996, I chose a natural birth experience. With the help of a midwife, I had an incredible experience with the realization that when we mesh our minds, body and soul collectively the experience is euphoric! The eleation of giving birth soon was diminished when my son developed colic, which transitioned right into chronic ear infections. Not a few...but what would end up being 79 ear infections, 4 ear surgeries and an adnoidectomy.

 

After about a year of seeing the trend of antibiotics routinely given for any ache and pain he had, I began my natural health reseearch again and found Dr. Greene! Dr. Greene and Cheryl were such a pivital part of Jacob's recovery, as Dr. Greene's approach to health and nutrition helped us restore his immune system so that his body could begin to do the work that the antibiotics had stripped from his system. We used natural organic food sources, probiotics, and some environmental methods to create health. And it worked!

 

Dr. Greene now speaks all over the world on children's health, and is a spokesperson for many organic food companies as well as being on the board of the Organic Center. Having worked with these two incredible people was such a blessing in my life, and helped restore my son's health.

 

Of course, like most parents, what we do to take care of our children is not what we do to take care of ourselves. The 8 years took it's toll, and I began to experience health opportunities in my life. Sick and tired of being sick and tired I was also having some "health opportunities" that began to surface. I knew instantly what I needed to do and told the doctors I would be back in 6 months if I was not able to heal myself.

 

That is when I began my journey following an intense period of personal development, where I underwent a personal transformation and decided to pursue practical knowledge in natural and alternative medicine to restore the body’s natural balance. During my travels to the Maui, I underwent a detoxifying cleanse with Laurel that encompassed mind-body-spirit, and left me feeling totally rejuvenated with much of the merit due to colon hydrotherapy. When you come into Serenity, you will most likely encounter me. This is my passion; my sacred contract with the universe.

 

My goal is to complete my Bachelor's in Holistic Nutrition and eventually transfer into the Doctor of Natropathic Medicine program. I have been certified in colon hydrotherapy (using the Woods Gravity method), biological terrain analysis, blood microscopy, Dr. Jensen's Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management as well as massage therapy. The eternal student, I listen to where the Universe calls me.

 

I'm engaged to a wonderful man to whom I will marry in '08. I enjoy spending time with my son, hiking with the dog each morning, painting, reading, skiing and continuing to enjoy each health step in the journey of vibrant, healthy living.
